Tuesday Process and Psychomotor Group:
A mixed male and female adult group which uses group process and psychomotor (www.pbsp.com) work. Group members participate in two all-day workshops annually. PBSP, symbolic re-parenting work that focuses on how feelings arise in the body, is an effective approach for those with histories of trauma or deficits in parenting. Group members are also in individual therapy, and we maintain ongoing communication with their individual therapists (weekly calls). Over the years we have had good experiences with clients who see other therapists, since we maintain such careful collaboration.
Wednesday DBT Skills Training Group:
Stephanie has been teaching DBT skills for more than 15 years. Gus and Stephanie bring their experience of more than 30 years of practice to the DBT work. We offer the skill sets of mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness in a way that reaches people who have not been helped by conventional therapies.
This is a process group for women in their 60's and older. The group is new and evolving and focuses on issues relevant to this time of life. Group members are in concurrent individual therapy.
